Festival of Business - Bringing the Essex business community together

The Festival of Business was not only a first for the Essex Chambers but it was also a first for the County – and it was a resounding success! Held on Wednesday 27 April 2022.

The feedback speaks for itself: -

Shevaun Haviland, the Director General of the British Chambers of CommerceComing to events like these is the best bit of the job by far! I am looking forward to speaking to everyone and taking your feedback to Government. In order to champion the needs of our members, the BCC encourages businesses to engage with the Quarterly Economic Survey, the largest and most representative independent business survey of its kind in the UK”.

Neil Dibell, Essex Police Volunteer Police Cadets co-ordinator on attending the event with cadets and leaders, to help with marshalling - “It was a great experience for them to be involved in helping at such an event and to see the wide diversity of business and opportunities across Essex. Our cadets thoroughly enjoyed assisting in the running of the day and getting a chance to see and talk to some of the businesses in the county as they think about their future career options.”

Calley Page, South Essex College of Further & Higher Education - “The Festival of Business was hugely beneficial for our organisation, networking face to face with other businesses, potentially for the first time since lockdown. The college was also able to support with learners for their work experience which was hugely meaningful for them. We would be delighted to support and take part in any future events that you may have.”

Exhibitors and Sponsors, Radio Essex - “Had a fantastic day at a very well-run event. Saw lots of faces I had not seen for ages and also made some great new contacts. An excellent event and I am already looking forward to next year!”

Exhibitors and Sponsors, Kingswood Group - “Congratulations on such a successful event, it was a pleasure to part of it. Essex Chambers clearly put a lot of work into this event. It was well advertised and in a beautiful location that was suitable for visitors, generating fantastic footfall. The event was enhanced by the selection of speakers and the festival programme, which brought a different element that other business expos are missing. ”

Exhibitors, Chelmsford City Racecourse – “Its nice to see such a well-run event where the amount of people we told would attend, actually did! Such an amazing selection of businesses and hopefully future clients.”

Visitors, Ellisons Solicitors - “Thank you for laying on such a well organised event, we thoroughly enjoyed attending the festival.

Visitor, Vanessa Willis, The Conscious Workplace - “I just wanted to express my thanks once again for hosting such a great event. We really enjoyed our time. I attend many network meetings, both virtually and F2F, but ECC always exceeds every expectation when it comes to quality of content and delivery. Personally, you have always made me feel very welcome, and for that I am super grateful. I am a strong believer that people make up the DNA of any business or organisation, and this single handedly determines whether a business is a success or not. There's no doubt the Festival was an absolute success - Well done to you all!”

Speaking after the event Denise Rossiter, CEO of the Essex Chambers of Commerce said: “It's quite simply incredible to see the number of wonderful businesses and entrepreneurs we have in our county. Such a special day with an overwhelming 500+ visitors registered, my special thanks goes to the business community for their support and to the fabulous team at the Chambers for making this wonderful event happen! ”
