What is the Essex Local Skills Improvement Plan (LSIP)?
Hear from Joanne Giles, Executive Director of Essex LSIP, as she explains how the Essex Local Skills Improvement Plan is transforming the way skills are developed and delivered across the county.
The Essex LSIP, led by Essex Chambers of Commerce on behalf of the Department for Education (Skills England), is all about ensuring that education and training reflect the real needs of businesses. By working in partnership with employers, training providers, and local authorities, the plan has identified where the gaps are, what skills are most urgently required, and how we can take action to address them.
Jo will share the progress already being made: from tackling sector-specific shortages to creating new opportunities for training and upskilling. She’ll also set out the roadmap for how the Essex LSIP is helping to align what learners are taught with the skills employers actually need, so that young people and adults alike can thrive in the workplace.
A crucial part of this work is listening to employers. Jo will highlight why their insight and involvement are essential in shaping the future workforce for Essex. Without employers sharing their challenges, skills needs, and future priorities, the Essex LSIP cannot fully succeed. This is your chance to understand not only how the Essex LSIP is making a difference, but also how your voice as a business is needed to influence change.
Discover how the Essex LSIP is already delivering impact and how, together, we can build a stronger, more skilled workforce that supports growth, productivity, and prosperity across Essex.
